Live Your Lyric

You know, sometimes singers, songwriters, and poets find themselves living in the tension between memory and imagination. They’re constantly navigating the delicate balance of looking back and looking forward, while seeking moments to express their art—to sing rather than regret not singing.

Life itself is a journey, one that takes us from glory to glory, from lyric to lyric. Our music and creativity aren’t just byproducts of this journey; they’re what beautify it. But here’s the thing: if we’re not connected to the beauty of the journey, we risk losing our song. We risk losing our poetry. Instead of bringing forth the gifts we’ve been created to share, we might end up internalizing our thoughts, leaving them unexpressed.

There’s a unique tension that comes with knowing you’re created to do something no one else has done. It can feel like a daunting place to be, but it’s also deeply reassuring. That sense of purpose is one of the most profound gifts God gives—an anchor of security between you and Him. As a poet or creative, you’re called to embrace this truth: I am created to do something only I can do.

When you understand this, you no longer have to live your life trying to emulate someone else. You’re free to step fully into who you were uniquely made to be. You can sing your song, live your lyric, and boldly walk the path set before you.

So, go ahead. Sing your song. Live your life. Let your creativity flow from memory to imagination, from glory to glory, and from lyric to lyric. Nobody else can do it quite like you.
